The artists, ages 9-14, are from Jokai Mor Primary School in Pecs, Hungary.

Teachers, Susanna Agoston and Mrs. Gerentser writes:
“The artwork was done on the basis of our own ideas and of the ideas of the children. We have taken part in a lot of contests with our artwork and have always reached one of the first places. To describe how the assignment was presented to the students would be lengthy but it is always introduced and prepared by slides, videos or other visual aids and discussion.”

About the Region

Pecs is situated at the feet of the Mecsek Mountain. The town is 2000 years old. A Mediterranean influence is dominant within the wet, continental climate, which is characterized by early Springs with blooming Almond trees. The Summer is hot (20-30 degrees C), the winter is different every year. Sometimes it is long and cold. Deciduous forests, lakes, and hiking places make the area pleasant and enjoyable.

Antigua

The artists from Antigua, ages 9-11, live on Leeward Islands. They created colorful watercolor paintings and drawings of sailboats and bowls of fruit. Two of their drawings are pictured on Flying Art’s notecards.
